2019 Fall Ask A Geologist

This is one of our favourite events. Each November, we team up with Kamloops Museum and Archives to host the annual event. Thank you to our volunteer geologists Robin Whiteaker, Lorne Warner and Ed Frey for identifying over 100 rocks. 2019 Ab Ablett Memorial Charity Golf Tournament

We had another incredible tournament honouring a great man. The 2019 Ab Ablett Memorial Charity Golf Tournament saw 36 golfers and more for dinner. We had a putting challenge, silent auction, prizes and a wonderful dinner. The weather was beautiful and everyone had a great time. This year's benefiting charity was the Kamloops SPCA. 2019 Tech Fest

KEG took part in the 2019 Tech Fest put on by Kamloops Innovation. The theme this year was 'TECHFEST 2019 | Celebrating The Innovation Building BC’s Interior." KEG volunteer, Royanna Wild, had her incredible rock collection on display as well as the reclamation game and a video showing the innovation in mining. This was a very interesting event and sees about 500 in attendance.

2019 Kamloops Gem & Mineral Show

KEG took part in the IndiGem Kamloops Gem & Mineral Show August 23-25 at the McArthur Island Sports Centre. The event had something for everyone. 2019 Mining Day

The 8th Annual Mining Day took place at the Big Little Science Centre on May 11th. 2019 Meet A Machine

We were thrilled to take part in the 5th Annual Meet A Machine, supporting the Kamloops JDRF. The weather saw a bit of everything from snow, rain, wind and sun... but that didn't stop the close to 3500 in attendance with something for everyone. A huge thank you to Alanna Mitchell for all her time spent with KEG. Alanna flew in from Antartica to Kamloops with very little sleep to spend two days with us. On April 3rd, we headed to Salmon Arm to speak to a science class at Salmon Arm High School before giving a lecture to the general public.
